Prostess® uno is a herbal medicine made from the fruits of the saw palmetto (Serenoa repens).The saw palmetto is a type of palm tree native to the southeast of the USA .The ingredients in the purple to black fruits have a regulating effect on the prostate.This medicine is used for urinary problems caused by a benign enlargement of the prostate.

No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Prostess® uno is used for urinary problems caused by a benign enlargement of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia).These symptoms can manifest themselves in a frequent urge to urinate, a weak stream of urine or a delayed start to emptying the bladder.The medicine helps to relieve symptoms and promote complete emptying of the bladder.

Treatment should only be carried out after a confirmed diagnosis under medical supervision.Prostess® uno only improves the symptoms of an enlarged prostate without resolving the enlargement itself.Regular medical checks are therefore important.A doctor should be consulted immediately, especially if there is blood in the urine, urinary tract infections, worsening symptoms or acute urinary retention.

Each soft capsule contains 320 mg of saw palmetto fruit extract (7.5-12.5:1), made with ethanol 90% (m/m) as the extractant.The medicine also contains the following excipients: iron (II,III) oxide, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x-water, gelatin, glycerol, glycerol 85%, patent blue V, sorbitol and purified water.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: Take 1 soft capsule (1x 320 mg saw palmetto fruit thick extract) once daily.The application is not intended for children and young people under 18 years of age.

The treating doctor decides on the duration of the treatment.Please note the information under areas of application, precautionary measures and interactions.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect is too strong or too weak.

If you have taken more than you should, the gastrointestinal problems mentioned under side effects may increase.The medicine should then be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

If you forget to take it, you should not take more than the prescribed amount of capsules the next time you take it.

The medical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia is usually long-term therapy.You should therefore under no circumstances interrupt your intake or stop taking it prematurely without consulting your doctor.

Intake

The medicine should be taken after eating with sufficient liquid (e.g. a glass of water).

Patient information

Take special care if you are taking certain other medications at the same time.Please also note the information under Interactions.Caution is advised when taking antiandrogens (e.g. finasteride or flutamide) or therapeutic androgens at the same time.Caution is also advised when taking anticoagulant medications (e.g. ibuprofen, ASS or anticoagulants) at the same time.Caution is also necessary if you have a blood clotting disorder and before surgical or dental procedures.If you suffer from high blood pressure, your blood pressure should be checked regularly.

Please see your doctor regularly as the medicine does not correct the enlargement of the prostate.As a check before and regularly during treatment, a medical examination should be carried out for the early detection of prostate cancer.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.

Prostess® uno is a herbal medicine that can ease urination problems in the case of prostate problems. By increasing urine flow and promoting complete emptying of the bladder, symptoms such as frequent urination can be alleviated.The medicine is suitable for use by men aged 18 and over.Treatment with Prostess® uno should only be carried out under medical supervision after a confirmed diagnosis.

The medicine only improves the symptoms of an enlarged prostate without resolving the enlargement.Please consult your doctor at regular intervals.A doctor should be consulted, especially if there is blood in the urine or acute urinary retention.
