Areas of application

Aktren forte is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicine that can be used for various types of pain and fever.It is suitable for relieving headaches, toothaches, period pains and treating fever.It can also be used in the acute phase of a migraine.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each Aktren forte capsule contains 400 mg of the active ingredient ibuprofen.The preparation also contains the following other ingredients: poloxamer, propylene glycol, magrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, gelatin, glycerol and the dye titanium dioxide (E175).

Contraindications

Aktren forte must not be taken if you are allergic to one of the active ingredients mentioned.The medicine should also not be used if you have had previous asthma attacks, swelling of the nasal mucosa or skin reactions to similar products.It is also not suitable for stomach or intestinal ulcers or in the last trimester of pregnancy.

Dosage

Aktren forte should always be taken as directed.The medicine must not be taken for longer than four days without a doctor's prescription.The usual dosage depends on age and body weight:

Children from 6 to 9 years (approx. 20-29 kg): Single dose 1/2 film-coated tablet (200 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose 1 1/2 film-coated tablets (600 mg ibuprofen).

Children aged 10 to 12 years (approx. 30-43 kg): Single dose 1/2 film-coated tablet (200 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose 1 1/2 to 2 film-coated tablets (600-800 mg ibuprofen).

Children 13 to 14 years old (approx. 44-52 kg): Single dose 1/2 to 1 film-coated tablet (200-400 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 film-coated tablets (600-1000 mg ibuprofen).

Adolescents aged 15 and over and adults: single dose 1/2 to 1 film-coated tablet (200-400 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose 2 to 3 film-coated tablets (800-1200 mg ibuprofen).

If a dose is missed, do not take a double dose.If you have any questions about use, seek medical or pharmacist advice.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water.This promotes the onset of effect.It can be taken regardless of meals.However, if you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the medicine with meals.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking Aktren forte if there are allergies, chronic swelling of the mucous membranes or respiratory diseases.If you have blood formation disorders, certain immune system diseases, gastrointestinal problems, kidney or liver diseases, high blood pressure or cardiac insufficiency, you should also seek medical advice before taking it.

Long-term, high-dose use of painkillers can cause headaches that should not be treated with increased doses.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.

Anticoagulants, high blood pressure medications and other medicines can also affect the effect of ibuprofen.Therefore, medical advice should be sought before taking other medicines at the same time.

If the recommended doses are taken for a short period of time, no impairment of the ability to drive or use machines is expected.

The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children.No special storage conditions are required.The pharmacist should be consulted about the disposal of the medicine in order to protect the environment.

Pregnancy

Before taking any medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding, medical or pharmacist advice should be sought.In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, Aktren forte should only be used after consulting your doctor.It must not be taken in the last trimester of pregnancy due to the increased risk of complications.

During breastfeeding, small amounts of the active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products pass into breast milk.However, with short-term use of the recommended dose, no interruption of breastfeeding is necessary.

Other

Aktren forte is not suitable for children and adolescents under 14 years of age due to the high active ingredient content.Long-term, high-dose use of painkillers can cause headaches, which should not be treated with increased amounts of the drug.

Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.If you experience severe pain in the upper abdomen, blood in your stool or vomiting blood, you should stop taking the medicine immediately and see a doctor.

If you experience visual disturbances or worsening signs of infection, you should consult a doctor immediately.At higher doses, fatigue and dizziness may occur, which may impair the ability to drive or operate machines.

If you take it for a long time, regular checks of your liver values, kidney function and blood count are necessary.Severe hypersensitivity reactions may occur and require immediate medical attention.
