The active ingredient in this medicine is acetylcysteine.Each 10ml dose of the juice contains 200mg of acetylcysteine.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: sodium edetate, sodium benzoate, carmellose sodium, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, saccharin sodium, sodium hydroxide, raspberry flavor, propylene glycol, ethanol and purified water.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to acetylcysteine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.It must not be used in children under 2 years of age.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described here or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.The following information applies unless your doctor has prescribed the medicine differently.Please adhere to the instructions for use, otherwise the medicine will not work properly!

Use in children and adolescents: Children aged 2 - 5 years should take 5 ml of solution 2 - 3 times a day, corresponding to 100 mg of acetylcysteine 2 - 3 times a day.Children aged 6 - 14 years should take 10 ml of solution twice a day, equivalent to 200 mg of acetylcysteine twice a day.Adults and adolescents aged 14 and over should take 10 ml of solution 3 times a day, equivalent to 200 mg of acetylcysteine 3 times a day.

If the clinical picture worsens or there is no improvement after 4 - 5 days, you should consult a doctor.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

If you take more than you should, you may experience gastrointestinal irritation such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.Serious side effects or symptoms of poisoning have not been observed so far, even after massive overdose of acetylcysteine tablets.If you suspect an overdose, please notify your doctor.

If you forget to take it, please continue taking it next time as described in the dosage instructions.Do not stop treatment with this medicine without consulting your doctor, as this could make your illness worse.

Intake

The medicine is taken after meals according to the dosage instructions.A slight smell of hydrogen sulfide that occurs when the preparation is stored is due to the normal aging process of the preparation.However, as long as the expiry date has not been exceeded, it is harmless and irrelevant with regard to the effectiveness and tolerability of the preparation.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you notice any skin changes.Very rarely, severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome have been reported in connection with the use of acetylcysteine.If changes to the skin and mucous membranes occur, medical advice should be sought immediately and the use of acetylcysteine should be stopped.

Caution is advised if you suffer from bronchial asthma or have had or have a stomach or intestinal ulcer in the past.Caution is advised in patients with histamine intolerance.Long-term therapy should be avoided in these patients because the drug moderately influences histamine metabolism and can lead to intolerance symptoms such as headaches, runny nose or itching.

The use of the drug, especially at the beginning of treatment, can lead to liquefaction and thus an increase in the volume of the bronchial secretion.If you are unable to cough it up sufficiently, your doctor will take appropriate measures for you.

Mucolytics can cause airway obstruction in children under 2 years of age due to their airway nature and limited ability to cough up mucus. Therefore, mucolytics must not be used in children under 2 years of age.

The medicine has no influence or a negligible influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
