Prontosan® acute wound gel is a hydrogel that was specially developed for cleaning, moistening and cooling superficial wounds and burns.It is suitable for both acute and chronic and infected skin wounds as well as first and second degree burns.The flowable consistency of the gel makes it particularly suitable for use in wound cavities.

Properties

The wound gel effectively dissolves wound deposits such as necrosis, fibrin and biofilm and at the same time prevents the formation of new deposits.Thanks to its good flow behavior, it is ideal for treating wound cavities.The application is painless and creates an environment that promotes healing.Prontosan® acute wound gel can be used repeatedly and long-term.Once opened, it can be kept for up to 8 weeks and is reimbursed by statutory health insurance (GKV).

Application

The hydrogel is not only suitable for cleaning and moisturizing, but also for cooling superficial wounds such as abrasions and cuts and for treating minor burns.It forms a protective film on the wound and creates a moist wound environment that promotes healing.Its cooling effect relieves pain.The gel is also effective against clinically relevant pathogenic microorganisms, including multi-resistant pathogens (MRE).Once opened, it can be kept for up to 12 weeks.
