MICLAST - Ciclopirox-containing nail polish for the treatment of nail fungus

After applying MICLAST® 80 mg/g, the solvent evaporates and the active ingredient concentration increases from 8% to 35%.This high concentration allows the active ingredient to quickly penetrate the nail and thoroughly remove the fungus.The nail polish is waterproof and stays on the nail even after washing your hands or showering to continue to work.

1 Gram of MICLAST® 80 mg/g contains ciclopirox 80 mg.The other ingredients are ethyl acetate, 2-propanol (Ph.Eur.) and poly(butyl hydrogen maleate-co-methoxyethylene) (1:1) as a solution in 2-propanol (Ph.Eur.).

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.It is not suitable for children and young people under 18 years of age.

Dosage

Apply MICLAST® 80 mg/g once daily, preferably in the evening, as a thin layer to the affected nail.For optimal penetration of the active ingredient, you should clean the nail once a week with a nail polish remover.The duration of therapy is usually 3 months for fingernails and up to 6 months for toenails.

Application

The nail polish is applied once a day to the entire fungal nail.It is not necessary to file the nail.Clean the nail once a week with a nail polish remover to ensure optimal penetration of the active ingredient.The polish is transparent and waterproof, so that the active ingredient remains on the nail and continues to work even after showering or bathing.

Patient information

The product is intended exclusively for external use.Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes until the varnish has dried.Do not apply regular nail polish or other cosmetic varnishes to the treated nails during treatment.If an allergic reaction occurs, stop treatment immediately, carefully remove the paint and consult a doctor.If several nails need to be treated or if you suffer from diabetes mellitus or an immune system disorder, please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.This medicine can be used by pregnant women.You should not use the medicine while breastfeeding as there is insufficient information about the excretion of ciclopirox into breast milk.
