The effervescent tablets contain 1500 mg calcium carbonate, which corresponds to 600 mg calcium ions.It also contains 0.01 mg colecalciferol, i.e. 400 international units of vitamin D3.The excipients included are alpha-tocopherol, malic acid, anhydrous citric acid, maltodextrin, sodium ascorbate, sodium carbonate, sodium cyclamate, sodium bicarbonate, saccharin sodium salt, sucrose, silicon dioxide, modified starch, medium-chain triglycerides as well as natural and nature-identical flavorings.

Contraindications

The effervescent tablets must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to calcium carbonate, colecalciferol or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.The preparation should also not be used if there is an increased calcium content in the blood, increased calcium excretion in the urine, kidney limestones, tissue calcification of the kidneys, impaired kidney function, hyperfunction of the parathyroid gland, vitamin D overdose, multiple bone marrow tumors, secondary tumors in the bones or immobilization of limbs.

Dosage

Adults usually take one effervescent tablet twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.This corresponds to a daily dose of 1200 mg calcium and 800 IU vitamin D3.It should be taken long-term and the duration of use should be discussed with your doctor.In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, feeling thirsty, increased urine production or constipation may occur.In this case, a doctor should be contacted immediately.If you forget to take a dose, you should not take a double dose, but stick to the normal dosage rhythm.

Intake

The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately.The medicine can be taken with food or between meals.

Patient information

During long-term therapy, serum and urine calcium levels as well as renal function should be monitored regularly.In patients with impaired renal function, the drug should be used with caution and serum and urine calcium levels should be monitored.Additional calcium and vitamin D may only be taken under medical supervision.In patients with sarcoidosis, the drug should also be used with caution and blood and urine calcium levels should be monitored.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy, a daily intake of 500 IU of vitamin D should not be exceeded.Therefore, no more than one effervescent tablet may be taken daily.There are currently no known risks in this dose range.Long-term overdoses of vitamin D should be prevented, as hypercalcemia can lead to physical and mental disability as well as congenital heart and eye diseases in the child.Vitamin D and its metabolites are excreted in breast milk, but there are no known adverse effects on the child.Calcium passes into breast milk in small amounts without having a detrimental effect on the child.
