Area of application
This medicine is a pain-relieving, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/analgesics.It is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains as well as fever.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The main active ingredient of this preparation is ibuprofen in a dosage of 400 mg per film-coated tablet.In addition, it contains various excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium salt, hypromellose, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate, corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, stearic acid, talc, titanium dioxide and sodium ions.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients.It should also be taken if you have certain pre-existing conditions such as asthma attacks, nasal mucosal swelling or skin reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, unexplained blood formation disorders, peptic ulcers or hemorrhages, gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, cerebrovascular or other active bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart failure or in the last three months of pregnancycontraindicated.Children under 6 years of age should not take this product as the dosage strength is generally not suitable for them.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.The recommended dose varies depending on age and body weight:
Children between 6 and 9 years of age (approx. 20 - 29 kg) should take half a film-coated tablet (200 mg ibuprofen) as a single dose and a maximum of one and a half film-coated tablets (600 mg ibuprofen) per day.Children between 10 and 12 years of age (approx. 30 - 43 kg) can also take half a film-coated tablet as a single dose, but up to one and a half to two film-coated tablets (600 - 800 mg ibuprofen) per day.Adolescents between 13 and 14 years of age (44 - 52 kg) can take half to one whole film-coated tablet (200 - 400 mg ibuprofen) as a single dose and up to one and a half to two and a half film-coated tablets (600 - 1,000 mg ibuprofen) per day.Adolescents aged 15 and over and adults can take half to one whole film-coated tablet (200 - 400 mg ibuprofen) as a single dose and up to two to three film-coated tablets (800 - 1,200 mg ibuprofen) per day.Wait at least four hours between doses if you have taken the maximum single dose.
It should not be taken for longer than three days in children and adolescents and not longer than four days in adults without medical advice.In the event of an overdose, you should contact a doctor or hospital immediately.Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, headache, ringing in the ears, confusion, and trembling eyes.In severe cases, drowsiness, chest pain, heart palpitations, fainting, convulsions, weakness, dizziness, blood in the urine, feeling cold, and difficulty breathing may occur.There is no specific antidote.
If you forget to take a dose, do not take more than the usual recommended amount at the next dose.
Intake
Take the film-coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid to promote the onset of effect.It can be taken regardless of meals.However, if you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the tablets with meals.
Patient information
Before taking this medicine, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have certain medical conditions such as a congenital blood disorder, autoimmune diseases, bronchial asthma, gastrointestinal problems, kidney or liver disease, high blood pressure, heart failure or allergies.Elderly patients should be monitored particularly carefully as they may experience more side effects.
Avoid concurrent use of ibuprofen with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.To minimize the risk of heart attack or stroke, do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment.If you experience skin reactions or unusual abdominal symptoms, you should stop taking it and consult a doctor.
No prescription is required for this product.
Ibuprofen can temporarily inhibit platelet function.Patients with blood clotting disorders should therefore be carefully monitored.If taken for a long time, regular checks of liver values, kidney function and blood counts are necessary. Prolonged use of painkillers may cause headaches, which should not be treated with increased doses.
Since central nervous side effects such as tiredness and dizziness can occur at higher doses, the ability to react can be impaired.In this case, do not drive a car or operate machines.
Pregnancy
Before taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or planning to have a baby.In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, the product should only be used after consulting a doctor.It must not be used in the last three months of pregnancy.During breastfeeding, small amounts of the active ingredient ibuprofen pass into breast milk, but for short-term use it is usually not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding.
This medicine may affect fertility in women, but this effect is reversible once the medicine is stopped.
