Indications: Prophylaxis and therapy of folic acid deficiency states when oral folic acid substitution is not possible or the rapid correction of a pronounced deficiency state is urgently required. Warning: Contains sodium. What is Folic Acid Injektopas® 5 mg and what is it used for? Folic acid Injektopas® 5 mg is a vitamin preparation. Indications: Prophylaxis and therapy of folic acid deficiency states when oral folic acid substitution is not possible or the rapid correction of a pronounced deficiency state is urgently required. How should Folic Acid Injectopas® 5 mg be used? Always use Folic Acid Injektopas® 5 mg exactly as directed in this leaflet. For therapy of severe folic acid deficiency: 0.2 ml to 1 ml of Folic Acid Injektopas® 5 mg/day (corresponding to 1 to 5 mg folic acid). For prophylaxis, as needed, 0.2 ml to 1 ml/day (corresponding to 1 to 5 mg folic acid). The injection is given intramuscularly (into a muscle) or intravenously (into a vein). How should Folic Acid Injektopas® 5 mg be kept? Keep this medicine out of the reach of children and away from light at room temperature below 25 °C. Do not use Folic Acid Injektopas® 5 mg after the expiry date which is stated on the packaging. Indication of shelf life after opening or preparation: Folic acid Injektopas® 5 mg must be used immediately after opening the ampoule. Unused residues must be discarded.
