ASS-AbZ 100 mg TAH tablets contain the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid and are known as platelet aggregation inhibitors, also colloquially known as “blood thinners”.They prevent platelets from clumping together, which reduces the formation of blood clots.This medication is often used after heart attacks, strokes, or surgery on arterial blood vessels to prevent cardiovascular problems from recurring.However, it is not suitable for treating pain.

Areas of application

ASS-AbZ 100 mg TAH tablets are used to prevent blood clots.They are effective in the treatment of unstable angina, in the prevention of strokes and cerebral infarctions, as well as after heart attacks and vascular surgery.The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid inhibits the clumping of blood platelets and thereby reduces the risk of blood clots.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as the active ingredient.The excipients are cellulose powder, microcrystalline cellulose and corn starch.

Contraindications

The medication must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients, stomach and duodenal ulcers, increased bleeding tendency, asthma, chronic stomach or duodenal problems, previously damaged kidneys or severe liver dysfunction.

Dosage

The dosage varies depending on the area of application.For unstable angina pectoris and after vascular surgery, 1 tablet per day is usually recommended.In acute heart attacks, 1-1.5 tablets per day can be prescribed.To prevent another heart attack, up to 3 tablets per day may be necessary.To prevent cerebral infarction, a dosage of 1/2-1 tablet per day is recommended.

Intake

The tablets should be taken after meals with plenty of liquid.In the event of an acute heart attack, the first tablet can be bitten or chewed.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medication should only be taken after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.Acetylsalicylic acid should be avoided during the first six months of pregnancy.In the last three months, taking it can lead to a prolongation of the pregnancy and obstructed labor.If taken shortly before birth, it can cause cerebral hemorrhage in premature babies.Acetylsalicylic acid passes into breast milk in small amounts, but for short-term use, interruption of breastfeeding is usually not necessary.Breastfeeding should be discontinued after prolonged use or higher doses.

The medication is not suitable for treating pain.The doctor or dentist should be informed before operations.Dizziness and ringing in the ears may be signs of overdose, especially in children and elderly patients.If the recommended dosage is exceeded, liver values can increase, so regular monitoring of liver values is necessary, especially in children.The drug can trigger a gout attack if uric acid levels are elevated.In children and adolescents with febrile illnesses, it should only be used on medical advice.
