ASS-AbZ 100 mg TAH tablets contain the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid.They are a proven remedy to be taken after a heart attack, a stroke or surgical procedures on the arterial blood vessels.The term “TAH” stands for platelet aggregation inhibitor, which describes the prevention of blood platelets from clumping together.This is colloquially known as a “blood thinner”.

When platelets clump together in our body, blood flow stops and oxygen supply is cut off. ASS-AbZ 100 mg TAH inhibits the clumping of blood platelets, thereby reducing the risk of a blood clot forming.After heart attacks and strokes, ASS-AbZ 100 mg TAH is part of the standard therapy to prevent recurrence due to this effect.Even in those affected with unstable angina pectoris (heart pain), disorders of the cardiovascular system can be treated with low doses of acetylsalicylic acid.Another area of application is taking it after surgical procedures on arterial blood vessels in order to avoid blood clots. ASS AbZ 100 mg TAH is not suitable for the treatment of pain conditions.

ASS-AbZ 100 mg TAH tablets for unstable angina pectoris

ASS-AbZ 100 mg TAH prevent blood platelets from sticking together.This prevents the formation of blood clots, which can prevent further strokes or heart attacks.In addition, ASS-AbZ 100 mg TAH are used in the context of unstable angina pectoris and to prevent insufficient blood flow in the brain (TIA) and cerebral infarctions.The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid is also used after operations or other interventions on the arterial blood vessels to prevent possible blood clots.

Areas of application

Unstable angina pectoris as part of standard therapy, acute myocardial infarction as part of standard therapy, reinfarction prophylaxis, after arterial, vascular surgery or interventional procedures, prevention of TIA and cerebral infarction after precursor stages have occurred.Due to the low dosage, the tablets are not effective for pain.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity reactions may occur and the medication must be discontinued immediately.If an allergy to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the medicine is known, it must not be used.The medicine must not be used for stomach and duodenal ulcers, pathologically increased bleeding tendency, asthma, chronic or recurring stomach or duodenal problems, previously damaged kidneys and severe liver dysfunction.

Dosage

For coronary artery disease (unstable angina pectoris), one tablet per day is recommended.In the case of an acute heart attack, a daily dose of 1-1.5 tablets is recommended.To prevent another heart attack, 3 tablets per day are recommended.One tablet per day is recommended after vascular surgery.To prevent cerebral infarctions, a daily dose of 1/2-1 tablet is recommended.

Intake

The tablets should be taken after meals with plenty of liquid.To treat an acute heart attack, the first tablet should be bitten or chewed.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, medication should only be taken after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.Since the influence on pregnancy is unclear, acetylsalicylic acid should not be taken in the first 6 months.It is not allowed to be taken in the last 3 months as it can prolong the pregnancy and inhibit labor.An increased tendency to bleeding has been observed in mother and child.Taking ASS shortly before birth can cause cerebral hemorrhage, especially in premature babies.Acetylsalicylic acid passes into breast milk in small amounts.Since adverse effects on the infant have not yet been reported, interruption of breastfeeding will generally not be necessary if the recommended dose is used for a short period of time.If you use it for a long time or take larger quantities, you should stop breastfeeding.
