These active substances belong to a group of medicines called local anaesthetics. Emulus is used to numb the surface of the skin for a short time. It is applied to the skin before certain medical procedures to relieve pain. Emulus can be used to numb the skin before needle sticks or minor surgical procedures. It is important not to use Emulus on open wounds, on areas with rashes or eczema, in the eyes or around the anus. In children under 3 months of age, the application time should not be longer than 60 minutes, and in children with atopic dermatitis, not longer than 30 minutes. Emulus should not be applied to freshly shaved skin areas larger than 600 square centimetres. It is important to adhere to the recommended dosage, application time and skin area. You should consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Emulus, especially if you or your child have certain medical conditions or are taking other medicines.
