Domotherm® E is an electronic infrared thermometer that is used to regularly measure and control human body temperature in the ear canal.It is suitable for adults and children aged 6 months and over.No prescription is required for this product.

The thermometer is characterized by its easy handling and allows body temperature to be measured quickly in the ear.It can also be used to measure surface temperatures such as drinking bottles, bath water or ambient temperature.The last 12 measurements are saved with date and time.It also has a silent mode in which the signal tone can be switched off, which is particularly practical for sleeping children.The illuminated display changes color when you have a fever, and the temperature can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit.The long-term battery allows about 1000 measurements and the device switches off automatically.

When measuring body temperature in the ear, the infrared energy emitted by the middle ear and surrounding tissue is measured.This energy is captured by corresponding lenses and converted into temperature values.The results are shown in the illuminated display with an accuracy of one decimal place.

Dosage

To measure body temperature in the ear, you should stretch the ear canal to allow a clear view of the eardrum.For children under 1 year old, pull the ear straight back.For children aged 1 year and older and adults, pull the ear up and back.While gently pulling on the ear, insert the measurement sensor into the ear canal with gentle pressure and press the START-button.Leave the measuring sensor in your ear until the thermometer signals the end of the measuring process with a beep after about 1 second.Then pull the thermometer out of the ear canal again.

Cleaning, care and disinfection

The measuring tip must be cleaned after each use to avoid malfunctions and inaccurate readings.Use one of the included alcohol wipes or a cotton cloth or cotton swab moistened with alcohol (70% isopropyl) to clean the housing and the measuring probe.Make sure that no liquid gets inside the thermometer.Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, solvents or gasoline for cleaning.Never immerse the device in water or other cleaning liquids. Be careful not to scratch the surface of the measuring sensor and display.After cleaning the measuring sensor with alcohol, wait 5 minutes before taking the next temperature measurement so that the thermometer can reach the necessary operating temperature again.
