Directions for use of the product Doppelherz aktiv Magen-Gel for heartburn and reflux: The medical product Doppelherz Magen-Gel is used for the treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux. It helps to relieve symptoms such as heartburn, heartburn during pregnancy, reflux oesophagitis, acid regurgitation, indigestion, nocturnal reflux symptoms, cough and laryngitis. The gel is based on the active ingredients sodium alginate and carbonates. These act physically and form a gel in the acidic environment of the stomach, which acts as a barrier to prevent the gastric juice from flowing back into the oesophagus. In addition, the acidity of the stomach is reduced. It is used after meals and before going to bed. Adults and children over 12 years of age take 1 to 2 sachets. Children under 12 years of age should only take the product on medical advice. There are some warnings to be aware of. The product should not be used after the expiry date. Use is not recommended in cases of severe kidney failure or renal insufficiency. The product should be avoided in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients. If undesirable side effects occur, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. The product may interfere with the absorption of orally administered medicines, therefore a time interval of 2 hours should be observed between taking the stomach gel and other medicines. The product contains sodium and calcium, so people who need a salt-reduced diet or suffer from certain diseases should consult their doctor.
