Perocur 250 mg hard capsules contain the probiotic active ingredient *Saccharomyces boulardii*, a yeast fungus that combats diarrhea and alleviates symptoms.It helps regenerate the gut and offers preventive protection against traveler's diarrhea.It can also be taken alongside antibiotic treatment to support the natural gut flora and bind harmful germs.

Perocur 250 mg hard capsules contain the following active ingredients: *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* HANSEN CBS 5926, *Saccharomyces boulardii*, and dried yeast.The composition of one hard capsule includes 221.25 mg of dried yeast, corresponding to at least 2x10^10 viable cells per gram of lyophilisate (in 250 mg of lyophilisate).Additionally, the capsule contains lactose, magnesium stearate, water, sodium dodecyl sulfate, chlorophyllin-copper complex (E 141), titanium dioxide (E 171), and iron(III) hydroxide oxide x H2O (E 172).

Contraindications

Do not take Perocur 250 mg hard capsules if you are allergic to yeast or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Due to the currently incalculable risk of generalized colonization with *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* HANSEN CBS 5926, the product should not be taken by patients with severely compromised immune systems—such as those with HIV-infections, organ transplants, leukemia, malignant tumors, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or long-term high-dose corticosteroid treatment—or by patients with a central venous catheter.

Dosage

Always take Perocur 250 mg hard capsules exactly as described in the package leaflet or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.For acute diarrhea, the recommended dose for children between 6 months and 2 years of age, as well as for children aged 2 years and older, adolescents, and adults, is 1 hard capsule taken 1 to 2 times daily.For children between 6 months and 2 years of age, treatment should only take place under medical supervision.Infants under 6 months of age should not use the product.To prevent traveler's diarrhea, adolescents aged 12 years and older and adults can take 1 hard capsule 1 to 2 times daily, starting 5 days before departure.Children under 12 years of age should not use the product for prevention.

For acute diarrhea, the duration of use is generally 4 to 7 days.To prevent traveler's diarrhea, treatment should continue throughout the entire duration of the trip.

Administration

Perocur 250 mg hard capsules are intended for oral use.Swallow the hard capsules whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water, before meals.For children under 6 years of age, you can open the hard capsule by pulling the two halves apart and stirring the contents into food or liquid.In cases of diarrhea associated with tube feeding, only the contents of the capsules should be added to the nutritional solution.

Patient information

Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.You should consult a doctor if diarrhea lasts longer than 2 days or is accompanied by blood or a fever.In cases of diarrheal illness, especially in children, replacing fluids and salts (electrolytes) is the most important treatment measure.If microbiological stool tests are performed during or shortly after treatment, you should inform the testing laboratory that you are taking this product to avoid false-positive results.

Taking Perocur 250 mg hard capsules does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Pregnancy

Use of this product is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
