Nasivin dosage dropper without preservatives Baby is a product for use in the nose and contains the active ingredient oxymetazoline hydrochloride.This active ingredient has vasoconstricting properties that cause mucous membrane swelling.In addition, antiviral, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects have been proven.
The product is intended for infants and small children and is used for acute rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, paroxysmal runny nose, to facilitate the drainage of secretions in the case of inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and for middle ear catarrh in conjunction with a cold.It is also used for diagnostic mucous membrane swelling.
No prescription is required for this product.
Application
Nasivin dosage dropper without preservatives Baby is intended for nasal use.Aim the bottle opening downwards and pump several times by applying pressure to the finger rest before the first use until a complete drop comes out.It can only be used with the baby lying down with their head tilted back.Hold the downward-facing bottle opening directly in front of the nostril and instill the solution into each nostril.
The recommended dose is: For infants in the first 4 weeks of life, 1 drop of the 0.01% solution into each nostril 2-3 times a day.From the 5th week of life until the end of the 1st year of life, 1-2 drops in each nostril 2-3 times a day.For underweight infants and premature babies, the dosage may only be given as directed by the doctor.

Mode of action
The active ingredient oxymetazoline hydrochloride reduces the swelling of the inflamed nasal mucosa and reduces excessive secretion.At the same time, the ear trumpets are kept clear and the throat mucosa is reduced in swelling.Undisturbed breathing is possible again.

Contraindications
The product should not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned above or if you have dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa.If you have the following illnesses, taking the drug should be discussed with a doctor: increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma), severe cardiovascular diseases, pheochromocytoma (rare kidney tumor) or metabolic disorders (e.g. hyperthyroidism, diabetes).

Patient information
Particular caution is required when using this medicine in newborns and young infants.There are isolated reports of serious side effects (particularly respiratory failure) when using the recommended dose in this age group.Exceeding the dose must be avoided at all costs.
Longer use than recommended and overdose should definitely be avoided.The effect of decongestant nasal drops can decrease with prolonged use and overdose (development of tolerance).This may result in the use of higher doses or more frequent use, which may result in long-term use.In the event of prolonged use or overdose, treatment should be stopped immediately.
The long-term use of nasal drops that decongest the mucous membranes can lead to chronic swelling and ultimately loss of the nasal mucosa.
