Therapeutic indication

Sinolpan forte 200 mg gastro-resistant soft capsules are an anti-inflammatory and mucolytic medicinal product used as an adjunctive treatment for respiratory tract disorders.It can be used to alleviate symptoms associated with bronchitis and respiratory tract infections (colds).It is also suitable as an aid in the management of chronic and inflammatory respiratory tract conditions, such as sinusitis.

Mechanism of action

The active substance cineole in Sinolpan forte 200 mg gastro-resistant soft capsules has anti-inflammatory and mucolytic effects.In this way, the medicinal product supports the treatment of respiratory tract disorders.

Active substances / Ingredients

The ingredients of Sinolpan forte 200 mg gastro-resistant soft capsules include 200 mg of cineole as the active substance, as well as the following excipients: Eudragit L 30 D-55, gelatin, glycerol 85%, glycerol monostearate 40-55, sodium dodecyl sulfate, phospholipids from soybeans, polysorbate 80, propylene glycol, sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallising), sorbitol, and medium-chain triglycerides.

Contraindications

Sinolpan forte 200 mg gastro-resistant soft capsules must not be taken if there is an allergy to cineole or any of the other ingredients of the medicinal product.Use is also not suitable in cases of whooping cough or pseudocroup, or in infants and children up to the age of 12.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older can take Sinolpan forte 200 mg gastro-resistant soft capsules.The recommended single dose is 1 capsule, corresponding to 200 mg of cineole.The total daily dose is between 2 and 4 capsules, corresponding to 400 to 800 mg of cineole.Normally, 1 capsule is taken 3 times daily; in stubborn cases, the dosage may be increased to 4 times daily.For continued or long-term treatment, taking 1 capsule twice daily is usually sufficient.

Administration

The capsules should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid that is not too hot—preferably a glass of drinking water (200 ml)—ideally half an hour before meals.For patients with a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the capsules during meals.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking Sinolpan forte 200 mg gastro-resistant soft capsules if there are conditions involving marked hypersensitivity of the airways.In cases of bronchial asthma, treatment should only be carried out under medical supervision.A doctor should be consulted in the event of persistent symptoms, shortness of breath, fever, or purulent/bloody sputum.No special precautions regarding the ability to drive or operate machinery are necessary.

Pregnancy

There are no scientific studies on the use of Sinolpan forte 200 mg gastro-resistant soft capsules in pregnant women.Pregnant women should use the medicinal product only after consulting their doctor.Animal studies have shown that cineole crosses the placenta, but no evidence of malformations was found.Due to the fat-soluble properties of cineole, passage into breast milk cannot be ruled out.Breastfeeding women should also use this medicine only after consulting their doctor.
