Finalgon® heat ointment DUO

Finalgon® Heat Ointment DUO is a strongly warming ointment that is used specifically for muscle and joint problems as well as acute back pain.The ointment contains the active ingredients nonivamide and nicoboxil, which produce an intensive and long-lasting warming effect.These active ingredients promote blood circulation in the skin and relieve pain.Even small amounts of the ointment lead to a noticeable feeling of warmth, which sets in after a few minutes and reaches its maximum effect after 20 to 30 minutes.

Areas of application

Finalgon® heat ointment DUO is used to promote skin circulation for muscle and joint problems.It is also suitable for the treatment of acute pain in the lower back area, provided there are no neuropathic causes.The ointment can also be used to improve skin circulation before capillary blood sampling, for example from the earlobe or fingertip.

Mode of action

The ointment contains two vasodilators, nonivamide and nicoboxil, which create an intense and long-lasting warm feeling on the skin.These active ingredients increase local blood circulation in the skin, creating a lasting feeling of warmth.This promotes pain relief and blood circulation in the affected area.

Ingredients

The active ingredients of Finalgon® heat ointment DUO are nonivamide and nicoboxil.One gram of the ointment contains 4 mg of nonivamide and 25 mg of nicoboxil.The other ingredients include diisopropyl adipate, colloidal silicon dioxide, white petroleum jelly, sorbic acid (Ph. Eur.), citronella oil (contains various fragrances and allergens), and purified water.

Contraindications

Finalgon® Heat Ointment DUO must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.The ointment should also not be used if you have very sensitive skin, skin inflammation, skin diseases or open wounds in the affected area.

Dosage

The ointment should be applied thinly to the painful area using the applicator provided and spread by hand until only a slight shine can be seen on the skin.After use, hands should be thoroughly cleaned with soap and water.The ointment can be used up to 2-3 times daily as needed, with no more than 1 cm of ointment applied to a palm-sized area per application.

Patient information

The ointment should not come into contact with the face, eyes, or mouth as this may cause swelling, pain, irritation, and other unpleasant reactions.Sensitive skin areas such as the neck, lower abdomen or inner thighs should also be avoided.You should not take a hot bath or shower before or after use, as this can lead to increased redness and an intense feeling of warmth.

Pregnancy

Due to a lack of experience, the use of Finalgon® heat ointment DUO is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.It is not known whether the active ingredients pass into breast milk.

Notes

Sorbic acid can cause localized skin irritation.Allergens in the fragrance can trigger allergic reactions.Please do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the package.
