Hydrocort - 1 A Pharma® 0.5% cream
Hydrocort - 1 A Pharma® 0.5% cream is a synthetically produced glucocorticoid that is used to treat moderate inflammatory skin diseases.The active ingredient hydrocortisone helps relieve symptoms such as sunburn, sun allergy, inflamed insect bites and severe itching.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The cream contains 5 mg of hydrocortisone per gram as the active ingredient.Excipients include (RS)-2-octyldodecan-1-ol, carbomer 980, emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol (type A), dimeticone 35, disodium edetate 2-water, glycerol 85%, glycerol monostearate, oleyl oleate, medium chain triglycerides, trometamol, purified water and potassium sorbate.
Area of application
The cream is used to relieve moderate inflammatory skin diseases.It is suitable for treating symptoms such as sunburn, sun allergy, inflamed insect bites and severe itching.
Contraindications
The cream must not be used if you are allergic to hydrocortisone or any of the other ingredients.Also for certain skin diseases such as syphilis, skin tuberculosis, viral infections such as herpes simplex, herpes zoster and chickenpox, vaccination reactions, inflammatory redness of the face (rosacea), fungal infections (mycoses), bacterial skin infections, acne vulgaris and steroid acne, on open wounds, on the mucous membranes, for skin inflammation near the mouth (perioral dermatitis) and in the eye.The cream must also not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy.
Dosage
The cream should always be used exactly as described or after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist.Adults and children over the age of 6 can use the cream once or twice a day at the start of treatment.Once the clinical picture improves, a single application per day is usually sufficient.Children up to the age of 6 may only be treated as prescribed by a doctor; a single application per day is usually sufficient, and the duration of treatment should be limited to a maximum of 3 weeks.
The duration of treatment depends on the type, severity and course of the disease.In general, a treatment period of 2 weeks should not be exceeded.Large-area application (more than 1/10 of the body surface) should be avoided or carried out as directed by the doctor.If you think the effect is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
In the event of an overdose, no acute symptoms of poisoning are to be expected.Reduce the dose or discontinue the medication after high-dose and long-term use.Long-term, large-area use can result in the active ingredient being absorbed into the body, which can lead to side effects.If you experience these side effects, contact your doctor.
If you forget to use it, do not use a double dose.If you have any further questions about use, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Intake
Apply the cream thinly to the affected skin areas and rub in lightly.Wash your hands after application.
Patient information
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the cream, especially if you have skin infections caused by bacteria or fungi, when using it on the face, especially around the eyes, when applying it to body folds, around skin ulcers or to the genital and anal areas.Do not apply the cream to areas larger than 1/10 of the body surface, especially under occlusive bandages or on severely damaged skin.If you experience blurred vision or other vision problems, contact your doctor.
Particular caution is required for children and the elderly.Children up to the age of 6 may only be treated as prescribed by a doctor and the duration of treatment should be limited to a maximum of 3 weeks.Older people have thinner, more permeable skin, which requires extra care.
There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Hydrocortisone should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy.In later stages of pregnancy, hydrocortisone may only be used after a careful risk-benefit assessment by the treating doctor. Large area or long-term use and final dressings should be avoided during pregnancy.
The active ingredient contained in hydrocortisone passes into breast milk.If used over a large area or for a long time, breastfeeding should be stopped.Contact of the infant with the treated skin areas should be avoided.
Notes
Contains cetostearyl alcohol and potassium sorbate.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
