Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets provide effective relief from symptoms caused by allergic rhinitis and hives.Typical complaints such as watery and itchy eyes, a runny nose, sneezing as well as itching, redness and swelling of the skin can be effectively treated.The preparation is suitable for children aged 6 and over and has a long-lasting effect over 24 hours.

Mode of action

The active ingredient in Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets is levocetirizine dihydrochloride.Levocetirizine is the active ingredient of cetirizine, which is why 5 mg of levocetirizine is as effective as 10 mg of cetirizine.

Each film-coated tablet contains 5 mg levocetirizine dihydrochloride, equivalent to 4.2 mg levocetirizine.In addition, the preparation contains the following ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (vegetable), hypromellose, macrogol 400 and titanium dioxide.

Area of application

Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets are used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis and hives.These include watery and itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose as well as itching, redness and swelling of the skin.

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and children aged 6 years and over is 1 film-coated tablet daily.The tablets should be swallowed whole with water, regardless of meals.

Contraindications

Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to one of the ingredients, if you are allergic to levocetirizine, cetirizine or hydroxyzine, or if you have severe renal insufficiency with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min.

Patient information

Before taking it you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist, especially if you may not be able to empty your bladder completely, have epilepsy or are planning to have an allergy test.If renal or hepatic impairment is present, dosage adjustment may be necessary.
