Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets provide effective relief from the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and hives (urticaria), particularly itching.The product is available without a prescription.

Indications

Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets help treat allergy-related symptoms such as watery and itchy eyes, a runny nose, and sneezing, as well as skin reactions like itching, redness, and swelling.The medication is suitable for children aged 6 years and older and provides long-lasting relief for 24 hours.

Mechanism of action

The active substance levocetirizine in Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets is the active component of cetirizine.Consequently, 5 mg of levocetirizine is just as effective as 10 mg of cetirizine.

Active substances / Ingredients

Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets contain the active substance levocetirizine dihydrochloride.Each film-coated tablet contains 5 mg of levocetirizine dihydrochloride, equivalent to 4.2 mg of levocetirizine.Other ingredients are: Tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (vegetable origin).Film coating: hypromellose, macrogol 400, titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

Levocetirizine - 1 A Pharma® 5 mg film-coated tablets must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, allergy to levocetirizine, cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or any of the other constituents, or in cases of severely impaired kidney function (severe renal insufficiency with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and children aged 6 years and older is 1 film-coated tablet daily.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with water.They may be taken with or without food.

Use is not recommended for children under 6 years of age, as dose adjustment is not possible with these film-coated tablets.

Some patients may experience drowsiness, sleepiness, fatigue, or exhaustion while being treated with this medicine.Exercise caution when driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.

Notes

Contains lactose.Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer carton.The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
