The summary is as follows: The medicinal product Loratadin axicur 10 mg tablets contains the active substance loratadine, which belongs to the group of antihistamines. It is used to treat allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever) and hives. Loratadine prevents the action of histamine, which is released in the body during allergic reactions. The recommended dosage is one tablet once a day for adults and children over 12 years of age with a body weight over 30 kg. More suitable dosage forms are available for children with a body weight below 30 kg and children under 2 years of age. The medicine must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to loratadine or the other ingredients. In case of overdose, drowsiness, increased heart rate and headache may occur. Particular caution should be exercised in persons with severe hepatic impairment and before performing skin tests. Efficacy and safety in children under 2 years of age have not been established.
