Lefax® enzyme chewable tablets are a traditional medicine that has a mild effect and is well tolerated.They support the body's own digestion with natural digestive enzymes and, thanks to the active ingredient Simeticon, also prevent the formation of air in the stomach.The chewable tablets have a pleasant pineapple flavor and are ideal for adults and children aged 12 and over.

Area of application

Lefax® enzyme chewable tablets are traditionally used to support digestive function.They can help when the digestive system is temporarily overloaded, for example after hasty or heavy eating.These symptoms can also occur more frequently if you suddenly change your diet or eat unfamiliar foods on vacation.But even as we age, we can become deficient in important digestive enzymes, which can lead to a slower and more difficult digestion process.

The natural enzymes in Lefax® enzyme chewable tablets support healthy digestion.These are the so-called LAP-enzymes: lipases, which digest fats, amylases, which break down carbohydrates, and proteases, which utilize proteins.These enzymes act as a natural accelerator of digestion and stimulate the breakdown of food so that a well-digested meal can be better utilized by the body.

In addition, Lefax® Enzyme contains the active ingredient Simeticon, which prevents the formation of new air in the stomach.The chewable tablets are very mild and well tolerated because the effect only occurs locally in the gastrointestinal tract and the active ingredient does not enter the bloodstream.

Lefax® enzyme chewable tablets contain the active ingredients simeticone and porcine pancreas powder.One chewable tablet contains 41.2 mg simeticone and 50.0 mg porcine pancreas powder (lipase at least 42 Ph.Eur.U./mg, protease at least 2 Ph.Eur.U./mg, amylase at least 36 Ph.Eur.U./mg).

Other ingredients are sucrose (sucrose), anhydrous glucose (Ph.Eur.), glycerol monostearate, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) (Ph.Eur.), talc, Macrogol 6000 and pineapple flavor.

Contraindications

Lefax® enzyme chewable tablets must not be used if you are allergic to simeticon, porcine pancreas powder or any other ingredient of this medicine.

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and children aged 12 and over is 1 to 2 chewable tablets 3 times daily.Take the chewable tablets with meals and chew them quickly and thoroughly.Swallowing quickly and drinking a little liquid helps the enzymes mix well with the food in the stomach.

The duration of use is not limited and interruption of treatment is possible.Diabetics should note that one chewable tablet contains 0.5 grams of digestible carbohydrates, which is equivalent to 0.04 bread units (BE).

Intake

Take the chewable tablets with meals.It is important to ensure that the tablets are chewed quickly and swallowed quickly so that they mix more easily with the chyme in the stomach.Since in very rare cases the active ingredients can cause temporary irritation of the oral mucosa in sensitive patients, it is recommended in these cases to always drink fluids.

Patient information

You should not take the medicine for acute pancreatitis and acute attacks of chronic pancreatitis during the highly developed phase of the disease.However, in the decline phase during the dietary build-up, if there is evidence of ongoing or ongoing loss of pancreatic function, administration occasionally makes sense.

Since there are no sufficient studies, the preparation should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Pregnancy
