Fermentura Curcuma capsules contain fermented turmeric, which is produced through a special 3-stage fermentation process.This process, known as cascade fermentation, enables microbial and enzymatic conversion of the valuable ingredients.

Fermentation

Fermentation is a process in which organic substances are chemically converted by bacteria or fungi in the absence of air.This creates gases, alcohols and acids that enable natural preservation.This method was used over 5,000 years ago in ancient Babylon and was later scientifically investigated by Louis Pasteur.

3-Step cascade fermentation

1. The turmeric root is washed, chopped and placed in a clay jug with special lactic acid bacteria.After about two days, fermentation begins, producing clockwise lactic acid.

2. Two to three months later, the pre-fermented turmeric is fermented again with fresh lactic acid cultures.This process is repeated several times in order to achieve an ever finer breakdown of the active ingredients.

3. Finally, a final fermentation takes place with all batches, followed by centrifugation.This complex process protects the ingredients and does not use chemical or alcoholic additives or sugar.
