What is Spalt Forte and what is it used for?

Spalt Forte is an over-the-counter medicine for adults for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.It contains the active ingredient ibuprofen in a fully dissolved form, allowing it to be taken quickly in a small, easy-to-swallow liquid capsule.

Areas of application

Spalt Forte is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches, period pains and fever.It is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic medicine (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug/anti-inflammatory drug).

How is Spalt Forte used?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor has told you.For adults, the recommended dose is 1 capsule (equivalent to 400 mg ibuprofen) 1-3 times daily at an interval of 6 hours.The maximum daily dose should not exceed 3 capsules (equivalent to 1200 mg ibuprofen).

Take the capsules whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal.For patients with a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take Spalt Forte with meals.

In adults, if it is necessary to take this medicine for more than 3 days for fever or for more than 4 days for pain, or if symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought.

For children and adolescents, the medicine should not be taken for longer than 3 days unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor.

The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms.If you have an infection, consult a doctor immediately if symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) persist or worsen.

How should Spalt Forte be stored?

Store Spalt Forte at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and keep it out of the reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton/container.Never dispose of medicines via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.

What Spalt Forte contains

1 Liquid capsule contains 400 mg ibuprofen as active ingredient.The other ingredients are macrogol 400/600, potassium hydroxide (Ph. Eur.), solution of partially dehydrated sorbitol (Ph. Eur.), gelatin, purified water, propylene glycol, polyvinyl acetate phthalate and iron oxide (E 172).
