The Contour Care Blood Glucose Monitoring System is designed to measure blood sugar levels in people with diabetes who are being treated with or without insulin.It helps patients and healthcare professionals monitor the effectiveness of blood sugar control.The system is intended for self-monitoring of blood glucose by people with diabetes and healthcare professionals in venous blood and in fresh capillary whole blood collected from the fingertip or palm of the hand.It is intended for self-monitoring of blood sugar outside the body (in vitro diagnostics).The Contour Care Blood Glucose Monitoring System should not be used for the diagnosis or screening of diabetes mellitus or in newborns.Measurement at alternative measuring sites (palm of the hand) should only be used when a stable condition prevails (when the blood sugar level is not changing rapidly).The Contour Care Sensors are intended for use with the Contour Care Blood Glucose Meter for the quantitative measurement of glucose in venous blood and fresh capillary whole blood collected from the fingertip or palm of the hand.The measuring device is used for the quantitative measurement of glucose content in whole blood from 10 mg/dL to 600 mg/dL.The system is intended exclusively for in vitro diagnostics.

Application

Step 1: Plug in the sensor, the meter turns on.The blood glucose measuring system is immediately ready for measurement.

Step 2: Obtain a drop of blood with the lancing device and suck the blood.Practical: If the first blood sample is too low, a countdown appears on the display and more blood can be sucked into the same sensor within 30 seconds.

Step 3: Read the result and note the Smartcolour target range display.
