Levoceti-AbZ 5 mg film-coated tablets is an anti-allergic drug that contains the active ingredient levocetirizine.It belongs to the group of antihistamines and is used to treat allergic diseases.The active ingredient levocetirizine is a further developed second-generation antihistamine and is used to relieve symptoms such as hay fever (allergic rhinitis), chronic hives (urticaria) and other allergic reactions.

Levoceti-AbZ 5 mg film-coated tablets is suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over and is used to relieve symptoms of the nose and eyes in seasonal (hay fever) and year-round allergic rhinitis (e.g. house dust or animal hair allergy) as well as to treat hives (urticaria), an allergy-related skin disease characterized by itching, redness and hives.

The active ingredient levocetirizine dihydrochloride inhibits the effect of the messenger histamine in the body.This relieves symptoms such as itching, a runny nose and watery eyes.Just one film-coated tablet daily is enough, as the effect lasts up to 24 hours.The hay fever remedy offers reliable relief from allergy symptoms and enables a carefree everyday life.

Levoceti-AbZ 5 mg film-coated tablets contains 5 mg levocetirizine dihydrochloride, which corresponds to 4.21 mg levocetirizine.In addition, it contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, 63.5 mg lactose-1-water, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate, highly disperse silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to levocetirizine dihydrochloride, cetirizine, hydroxyzine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The medicine should also not be used if you have severe kidney disease that requires dialysis.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

Adults and children aged 6 years and over should take one film-coated tablet daily.Patients with severely impaired kidney function should not take this medicine.Patients with impaired kidney function may receive a lower dose, which depends on the severity of the kidney disease and, in children, also on body weight.The dose will be determined by your doctor.

Patients with severe kidney disease requiring dialysis should not take this medicine.Patients with only impaired liver function should take the recommended dose (1 film-coated tablet daily).Patients with impaired liver and kidney function may receive a lower dose, which depends on the severity of the kidney disease and, in children, also on body weight.The dose will be determined by your doctor.

Provided that renal function is normal, no dosage adjustment is required in elderly patients aged 65 years and over.The use of this medicine is not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

The duration of use depends on the type, duration and course of your symptoms.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

If you take more than you should, adults may experience drowsiness.Children may initially experience agitation and restlessness followed by sleepiness.If you suspect an overdose of the product, please notify your doctor.This will decide on any necessary measures.

Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the medicine before.Take the next dose at the next scheduled time.

Stopping treatment should not cause harmful effects.However, in rare cases, pruritus (severe itching) may occur after stopping taking the medicine, even if these symptoms were not present before treatment.The symptoms may disappear spontaneously.In some cases, symptoms may be very intense and require resumption of treatment.After resuming treatment, symptoms should disappear.

The use of this medicine is not recommended for children under 6 years of age as it is not possible to adjust the dose with the film-coated tablets.

Some patients may experience drowsiness/drowsiness, tiredness and fatigue during therapy with this medicine.Caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.In special studies, however, no impairment of the attention, reaction ability and driving ability of healthy test subjects was found when taking levocetirizine in the recommended dosage.
