Cetirizine beta is an anti-allergy medicine used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and to relieve hives (urticaria). The film-coated tablets contain the active substance cetirizine dihydrochloride. They are taken once a day, either as a 10 mg tablet for adults or adolescents over 12 years of age, or as a 5 mg half tablet twice a day for children between 6 and 12 years of age. In patients with kidney weakness, the dosage can be adjusted accordingly. The duration of use depends on the individual symptoms. Cetirizine beta should be stored before the expiry date and should not be disposed of in waste water or household waste. Gastrointestinal complaints, headache, dizziness and tiredness may occur as side effects. The medicine should not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to the active substance or lactose. A doctor should be consulted before taking the medicine, especially if there are kidney problems, epilepsy or difficulty urinating. The intake of alcohol should be avoided.
