Diclo - 1 A Pharma Schmerzgel 10 mg/g Gel is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkiller with the active substance diclofenac sodium. It is used for the external supportive treatment of pain in injuries such as strains, sprains or bruises. In adults, it is used for the local symptomatic treatment of pain in the extremities caused by blunt trauma such as sports injuries. Adolescents aged 14 years and over may use it for the short-term treatment of pain from bruises, strains or sprains due to blunt trauma. However, a doctor should be consulted if the complaints last longer than 3 days. The pain gel is applied thinly and evenly to the affected parts of the body, 3-4 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 9 g gel, corresponding to 90 mg diclofenac sodium. It is applied externally to intact skin and should not get on open injuries, eyes or mucous membranes. The duration of treatment is usually 1-2 weeks. No special dose adjustments are required for elderly patients or those with impaired kidney or liver function. Children under 14 years of age should not use the pain gel. Possible side effects may include skin reactions such as itching, redness or rash. The pain gel should be stored away from heat and used for a maximum of 12 months after opening. Before use, possible contraindications such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients should be checked. In case of pregnancy and lactation, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use.
