Areas of application

Endofalk® Tropic is a white powder for oral solution.It is used to cleanse the colon in preparation for a colonoscopy.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The medicinally active ingredients of Endofalk® Tropic are potassium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium hydrogen carbonate and macrogol 3350. One sachet contains 0.185 g potassium chloride, 1.400 g sodium chloride, 0.715 g sodium hydrogen carbonate and 52.500 g macrogol 3350. Two sachets, dissolved in one liter of water, contain 0.370 g potassium chloride,2,800 g sodium chloride, 1,430 g sodium hydrogen carbonate and 105,000 g macrogol 3350. The other ingredients are saccharin sodium, pineapple flavor, lemon flavor and highly dispersed silicon dioxide.

Composition in detail

1 Bag of Endofalk® Tropic contains the following active ingredients: 52.5 g macrogol 3350, 1.4 g sodium chloride, 0.715 g sodium hydrogen carbonate and 0.185 g potassium chloride.The excipients include pineapple flavor, colloidal silicon dioxide, saccharin sodium and lemon flavor.

Contraindications

Endofalk® Tropic must not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the active ingredients, other macrogols or any of the other ingredients.The product should also not be used in cases of intestinal obstruction, suspected intestinal obstruction, narrowing or perforations in the gastrointestinal area, emptying disorders of the stomach, severe, highly inflammatory stage of colon inflammation and the resulting severe, pathological expansion of the colon (toxic megacolon), impaired swallowing and gagging reflexes or general weakness.Endofalk® Tropic should not be administered to patients with impaired consciousness or to patients with a tendency to swallow or inhale liquids.

Dosage and application

Endofalk® Tropic should always be used exactly as your doctor has told you.To completely cleanse the intestines, 3 or a maximum of 4 liters of the solution must be taken.One bag corresponds to ½ liter of solution.The solution is drunk in portions of 200 - 300 ml per 10 minutes until the discharge from the anus is clear.It is generally taken around 4 hours before the start of the examination.The entire required amount can also be taken the evening before or part of it the evening before and the remaining amount on the morning of the day of the examination.You should not eat solid food 2 to 3 hours before drinking Endofalk® Tropic or until after the examination.

Preparation of the solution

The solution should be freshly prepared before use.The contents of 2 bags each are dissolved in 500 ml of lukewarm tap water or cooled, boiled water and then made up to 1 liter with water.The ready-to-use solution can be placed in the refrigerator to cool after preparation, as it is more pleasant to drink when chilled.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Endofalk® Tropic can cause side effects.Nausea, bloating and flatulence can occur very often.Vomiting, stomach cramps and irritation of the anus can often occur.Occasionally, general malaise and insomnia may occur.Very rarely, disorders of heart function, drops in blood levels of sodium, potassium, calcium and chloride, as well as allergic reactions such as a runny nose or acute skin inflammation can occur.

Storage

Endofalk® Tropic should be kept out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the bag and carton.The prepared solution can be kept at room temperature for a maximum of 3 hours or in the refrigerator for a maximum of 48 hours.
