What is Spalt Mobil and what is it used for?
Spalt Mobil is an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medicine that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).It is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain in known osteoarthritis (joint wear).No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
One Spalt Mobil soft capsule contains 400 mg ibuprofen as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are macrogol 400/600, potassium hydroxide (Ph.Eur.), solution of partially dehydrated sorbitol (Ph.Eur.), gelatin, purified water, propylene glycol (E 1520), polyvinyl acetate phthalate and iron oxide (E 172).
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
For adults and adolescents aged 12 and over with a body weight of more than 40 kg, the recommended dose is 1 soft capsule (equivalent to 400 mg ibuprofen) up to 3 times daily.The maximum daily dose should not exceed 3 soft capsules (equivalent to 1200 mg ibuprofen).If you have taken the maximum single dose, wait at least 6 hours before taking your next dose.
The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms.In adults, if pain is necessary to take this medicine for more than 5-7 days or if symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought.In children and adolescents, medical advice should be sought if use is required for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen.
No special dosage adjustment is required for the elderly.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Spalt Mobil is too strong or too weak.
Intake
Please take the capsules whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water) during or after a meal.For patients who have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take Spalt Mobil during meals.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.The medicine should also not be used if you have existing or repeated stomach or duodenal ulcers or bleeding in the past, if you have active bleeding such as cerebral haemorrhage or if you have severe liver or kidney dysfunction.Children under 12 years of age should not take the medicine.
Side effects
Possible side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and gastrointestinal bleeding.Other possible side effects include headache, dizziness, insomnia, tiredness, irritability, agitation, skin hypersensitivity reactions such as rash and itching, and vision problems.
Patient information
Particular caution when taking the drug is required in the case of gastrointestinal complaints, inflammatory bowel diseases, hematopoiesis disorders, blood clotting disorders, high blood pressure, heart failure, coronary heart disease, circulatory disorders in the periphery, circulatory disorders in the cerebral vessels, impaired kidney function, impaired liver function and collagen vascular disease.
The medicine can impair your ability to react, especially in higher doses or in combination with alcohol.Pay particular attention when driving or operating machines.
Pregnancy
Contact your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.

Other
If you experience severe pain in the upper abdomen, vomiting of blood, blood in the stool or black coloring of the stool or visual disturbances, stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor.If you experience reduced urine output and water retention in your legs, stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor. If you have fever, sore throat, superficial sores in the mouth, flu-like symptoms, severe fatigue, nosebleeds and skin bleeding, stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor.
If you take the drug for a long time, your liver values, kidney function and blood count must be checked regularly by a doctor.Taking too much of the medicine over a long period of time can cause headaches, which may not be relieved by increasing the amount of the medicine.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.
Storage
Keep medicines out of the reach of children.You may no longer use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the outer carton/container.Do not store Spalt Mobil above +25°C.
Never dispose of medicines via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.
