General information

Weleda Calendula Essence is an anthroposophical medicine that is used to treat wounds and superficial inflammations.It is also suitable for delayed wound healing and a tendency to suppuration, as well as for rinsing wound cavities and inflamed mucous membranes.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

The ingredients of marigold (Calendula officinalis) have anti-inflammatory properties and promote the formation of granulation tissue.This stimulates wound healing both for small injuries such as cuts and abrasions as well as for complex wounds such as ulcers, pressure sores and suppurations.Due to accelerated healing, wound pain is also reduced.

Active ingredients and ingredients

10 g of Calendula Essence 20% contains approx. 4 g Calendula officinalis 2a.Other ingredients are ethanol 94% and purified water.This medicine contains 50% alcohol by volume.

Areas of application

Calendula essence 20% is used to treat wounds, superficial inflammations, delayed wound healing and a tendency to suppuration.It is also used to rinse wound cavities and inflamed mucous membranes.

Dosage

For wound dressings and rinses, add 1-2 teaspoons of calendula essence to 250 ml of boiled, cooled water.For mouthwashes, add ½ teaspoon of essence to ½ glass of warm water.Treatment of acute illnesses should not exceed 1 week.Shake the bottle before use to ensure even distribution.

Contraindications

This product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to calendula or other daisy plants.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Weleda Calendula Essence should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Weleda Calendula Essence can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Hypersensitivity reactions can occur very rarely.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
