Instructions for use of Weleda Calendula Essence

Weleda Calendula Essence is an anthroposophical medicine that is used to treat wounds and superficial inflammations.This also includes cases of delayed wound healing, a tendency to suppuration and irrigation of wound cavities and inflamed mucous membranes.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The calendula essence contains Calendula officinalis 2a mother tincture as the active ingredient.Other ingredients include ethanol 94% (m/m) and purified water.It contains 50% alcohol by volume.

Areas of application

According to the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Weleda Calendula essence is used to treat wounds and superficial inflammations.This also includes delayed wound healing and a tendency to ulceration.The product is also suitable for rinsing wound cavities and inflamed mucous membranes.

Application and dosage

Weleda Calendula Essence is used diluted to make wound dressings and rinses.The usual dose is 1 to 2 teaspoons in 250 ml of boiled water for wound dressings and irrigation.For mouthwashes, add 1/2 teaspoon to 1/2 glass of warm water.The bottle should be shaken before use.

Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 1 week.If there is no improvement within 2 days, see a doctor.The duration of treatment for chronic illnesses should be discussed with a doctor.

Contraindications and precautions

Weleda Calendula Essence must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to calendula or other composite plants.If you have a fever or persistent symptoms, you should consult a doctor.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Side effects

Hypersensitivity reactions can occur very rarely.If you experience side effects or discomfort, you should contact a doctor or pharmacist.

Composition and dosage form

10 g (10.7 ml) of Weleda Calendula essence contains 4 g of Calendula officinalis 2a Ø as the active ingredient.The product is available as a tincture for external use in pack sizes of 50 ml and 100 ml.

Do not keep the medicine after the expiry date stated on the label and carton.In general, we are happy to supply you with our products in normal household quantities with a maximum of 15 packs per quarter.As part of medication safety, we reserve the right to set separate maximum quantities for certain medications.This is particularly true for products that are only used for a short time or have an increased potential for overdose.
