Aqua B. Braun rinsing solution is a sterile and endotoxin-free preparation that is suitable for various medical applications.No prescription is required for this product.

Composition

1000 ml of the solution contains Aqua ad iniectabilia 1000 ml.

Areas of application

The rinsing solution is used for rinsing and cleaning during surgical procedures, for rinsing wounds and burns, for moistening wound packs, cloths and dressings, for rinsing and cleaning urinary catheters, for rinsing and cleaning during stoma care, for rinsing and cleaning instruments and accessories, for filling breathing air humidification devices (containers from 100 ml are recommended) and for mechanical eye rinsing (30 ml containers are used).recommended).

Dosage

The amount of liquid required depends on the respective situation.

Overdose

In the event of an overdose during wound irrigation and intraoperative use, absorption of irrigation fluid can occur, which can lead to hypervolemia in the sense of hypotonic hyperhydration (hyponatremia).Symptoms of hyperhydration include headache, nausea, restlessness and disorientation.In severe cases, coma-like conditions can occur.

Countermeasures in case of overdose

In the event of an overdose, rinsing should be discontinued and water and electrolyte balance corrected according to the clinical situation.

Warnings and precautions

The solution must not be used for infusion.It should only be used if the closure is unbroken and the solution is clear.Opened containers must not be stored; remaining quantities must be discarded.Reuse of single-use devices poses a potential risk to the patient or user. It may result in contamination and/or impairment of functionality.Contamination and/or reduced functionality of the device may result in patient injury, illness or death.The irrigation solution must not be used for intrathecal irrigation procedures.The product should be kept out of the reach of children.

Expiry date

The solution must not be used after the expiry date stated on the label.

The flushing solution is available in a variety of containers, including Ecolav PE bottles in 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 ml sizes and Ecotainer PP bottles in 500 and 1,000 ml sizes.
