Jodetten Henning 1x weekly tablets are a thyroid medicine that is used to prevent and treat iodine deficiency and associated goiter formation.The active ingredient is iodide, which is present as a potassium salt.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredient and composition

The active ingredient in Jodetten Henning 1x weekly tablets is iodide (as potassium salt).One tablet contains 2000 µg potassium iodide, which corresponds to 1530 µg iodide ions.The other ingredients are light basic magnesium carbonate, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, crospovidone (type A), hydrogenated castor oil and sodium cyclamate.

Areas of application

Jodetten Henning 1x weekly tablets are used to prevent iodine deficiency goiter and to simultaneously supplement the iodine requirement.They are used to prevent the development of goiter if there is an existing iodine deficiency, to prevent a new development of goiter after treatment for iodine deficiency goiter has been completed, and to treat goiter in children, adolescents and younger adults.

Dosage and application

The recommended dose for children and adults is one tablet per week.Infants under 6 years of age take half of a tablet per week.The tablets should be taken after a meal with sufficient liquid.In children, the tablet can also be dissolved in food or drink.The preventative administration usually has to be given over a period of years, sometimes for life.

Instructions for taking

If you have taken more than you should, please contact your doctor immediately.If you forget to take the dose, you can take it over the next few days without taking twice the amount at once.If you interrupt or stop taking your medication, please consult your doctor.

Storage

Contraindications
