Active ingredient

The active ingredient in Jodetten Henning 1x weekly tablets is iodide, which is available as a potassium salt.

Areas of application

Jodetten Henning 1x weekly tablets are a thyroid medicine that is used to prevent iodine deficiency goiter and to simultaneously supplement the iodine requirement.It is used to prevent goiter development in the presence of iodine deficiency, to prevent recurrent goiter development after treatment for iodine deficiency goiter has been completed, and to treat goiter in children, adolescents and younger adults.

Dosage and application

The recommended dose for children and adults is one tablet per week.For children under 6 years of age, the dose is half a tablet per week.The tablets should be taken after a meal with sufficient liquid.In children, the tablet can also be dissolved in food or drink.The preventative administration usually has to be given over a period of years, sometimes for life.

Contraindications

Jodetten Henning 1x weekly tablets must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, if you have an overactive thyroid, if you have a tendency to hyperthyroidism, if you have dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring and if you have vascular inflammation.If you have thyroid autonomy, you should consult a doctor before taking it.

Composition

In addition to the active ingredient iodide (as potassium salt), the tablets contain the following other ingredients: light basic magnesium carbonate, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, crospovidone (type A), hydrogenated castor oil and sodium cyclamate.

Storage

The tablets should be stored out of the reach of children, protected from light and moisture and not above 25 °C.They must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
