Areas of application
Cetirizine Zentiva 10 mg film-coated tablets are an anti-allergic drug with the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride.The preparation is suitable for the relief of nasal and eye symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis as well as for the relief of chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria) in adults and children aged six years and over.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The film-coated tablets contain 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride as the active ingredient.Excipients include lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone 30, magnesium stearate, hypromellose 2910/5, macrogol 6000, talc, titanium dioxide, simeticone emulsion SE 4, simeticone, methylcellulose, sorbic acid and purified water.
Contraindications
Cetirizine Zentiva 10 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you have severe kidney disease or are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride, any of the other ingredients of the medicine, hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.If you have impaired kidney function, difficulty urinating or epilepsy, you should consult your doctor before taking it.
Dosage and application
The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid.Adults and young people over the age of twelve take one tablet once a day; children between the ages of six and twelve take half a tablet twice a day.Patients with kidney failure should coordinate the dose with their doctor.The duration of intake depends on the type and course of the symptoms.
Side effects
Possible side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, headache, nausea, dry mouth, fatigue, agitation, paresthesias, abdominal pain, itching, rash, asthenia, malaise and diarrhea.Less common side effects include allergic reactions, depression, hallucinations, aggression, confusion, insomnia, convulsions, tachycardia, abnormal liver function, urticaria, edema and weight gain.
Warnings and precautions
Cetirizin Zentiva 10 mg film-coated tablets contain lactose.If you have an intolerance to certain sugars, you should only take the medicine after consulting your doctor.Concomitant consumption of alcohol should be avoided.If an allergy test is scheduled, you should stop taking cetirizine a few days beforehand.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Cetirizin Zentiva 10 mg film-coated tablets should be avoided in pregnant women.Accidental ingestion should not cause adverse health effects to the fetus, but the drug should only be taken after medical advice.Cetirizine passes into breast milk, so you should not take the medicine if you are breast-feeding until you consult your doctor.
Ability to drive and use machines
In clinical studies, cetirizine at the recommended dose did not produce any signs of impaired attention, alertness or driving ability.However, you should carefully monitor your reaction to the medicine after taking it and do not use more than the recommended dose.
Storage
Keep medicines out of the reach of children.Cetirizine Zentiva 10 mg film-coated tablets must not be used after the expiry date stated on the pack.No special storage conditions are required.
