Areas of application
Vivimed with caffeine for headaches is a combination preparation that contains paracetamol, a painkiller and fever-reducing agent, as well as caffeine.It is used to relieve mild to moderate pain.This product is available without a prescription.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Each tablet contains 333 mg paracetamol and 50 mg caffeine as active ingredients.The excipients include microcrystalline cellulose, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), povidone (K-28-30) and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Vivimed with caffeine for headaches must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to paracetamol, caffeine or any of the other ingredients, suffer from severe impairment of liver function or if you are under 12 years old.
Dosage
Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults can take 1-2 tablets, equivalent to 333-666 mg paracetamol and 50-100 mg caffeine, 1-4 times a day, but no more than 8 tablets per day.The interval between doses should be at least 6 hours.In the case of liver or kidney dysfunction or Gilbert's syndrome, the dose must be reduced or the time interval extended.The medicine should not be taken for longer than 3 days without medical advice.
Intake
The tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid.Taking it after meals may result in a delayed onset of action.
Patient information
Particular caution is required in the case of chronic alcohol abuse, impaired liver function, previously damaged kidneys, hyperthyroidism, cardiac arrhythmias or anxiety disorders.If symptoms worsen or there is no improvement after 3 days, a doctor should be consulted.It should be ensured that other medicines taken at the same time do not contain paracetamol to prevent the risk of overdose.
Pregnancy
You should always ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking during pregnancy or breastfeeding.Paracetamol and caffeine pass into breast milk, but no adverse effects on the infant have been reported.With short-term use of the recommended dose, interruption of breastfeeding is usually not necessary.

Other
Taking paracetamol regularly over months and years can lead to untreatable damage to kidney function.The same effects are not known for caffeine.There is no known additional risk of kidney damage in the combination of paracetamol and caffeine.
