Areas of application
The ointment is used for minor skin injuries, such as abrasions and cuts, as well as for superficial skin and mucous membrane inflammation. It is also suitable for dry, rough and cracked skin, including aging skin, and can be used for hemorrhoids or soreness in infants. However, if the wounds are large or have purulent infection, a doctor should be consulted.
Mode of action
After application, the ointment forms a protective film on the upper layers of the skin, which strengthens the skin's barrier function. It provides moisture and improves skin elasticity thanks to its fat components. The plant substances in witch hazel have an anti-inflammatory, anti-itching and antibacterial effect. The hemostatic effect also helps with skin cracks and small injuries, so that the skin is regenerated and supple.
