Directions for use of the article Hametum Wund- und Heilsalbe (wound and healing ointment) Hametum Wound and Healing Ointment is a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of minor skin injuries and small-surface inflammations of the skin and mucous membranes. It contains the active substance witch hazel distillate. It is used by applying the ointment to the affected skin area. The ointment should be applied thinly several times a day until the symptoms subside. In the case of wounds with large areas or infected with pus, a doctor should be consulted beforehand. The ointment must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to witch hazel, lanolin or any of the other ingredients of the medicinal product. During pregnancy and lactation, medical advice should be sought before use. Possible side effects may include allergic reactions to the medicinal product or to lanolin alcohol. The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be stored above 30°C. It is available in different pack sizes.
