Instructions for use for BIOTIN H forte tablets, 40 pcs
Areas of application
Biotin H Forte is used to prevent and treat biotin deficiency states. It is also suitable for the treatment of biotin deficiency states in the very rare biotin-dependent multiple carboxylase deficiency.Biotin, also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H, is a water-soluble vitamin and part of the vitamin B complex. It is particularly needed for the functioning of metabolism, nerves, digestion and the cardiovascular system.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Each Biotin H Forte tablet contains 10 mg of biotin as an active ingredient. The excipients include microcrystalline cellulose, lactose-1-water, povidone K30, crospovidone and magnesium stearate.
Dosage and application
The usual dosage is 5-10 mg of biotin daily. To treat carboxylase deficiency, 1 tablet (equivalent to 10 mg biotin) is recommended daily. The tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid. To prevent biotin deficiency, less than 0.2 mg of biotin per day is sufficient. For lower dosages, preparations with a lower active ingredient content are available.
Contraindications
Biotin H Forte must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to biotin or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. In children under 12 years of age, the medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor or under medical supervision.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Other
Deficiency symptoms do not normally occur in humans. However, ingesting very large amounts of raw egg whites can trigger skin inflammation due to a biotin deficiency (deficient matitis), the so-called egg protein damage.Egg protein contains the glucoprotein avidin, which forms a stable complex with biotin that cannot be broken down in the gastrointestinal tract. In this way, biotin cannot be available to the body and a biotin deficiency occurs. In addition, in multiple carboxylase deficiency, the biotin requirement is increased due to a genetic defect.A pronounced deficiency can be seen in the skin and appendages of the skin and also results in specific psychological complaints and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
