Areas of application

Vitamin C 500 film-coated tablets are used to prevent vitamin C deficiency if adequate intake through diet is not ensured.They are also used to treat vitamin C deficiency diseases.

Dosage and application

The film-coated tablets are swallowed whole with sufficient liquid.The recommended dose for adults with vitamin C deficiency is 200 to 1000 mg of ascorbic acid per day, equivalent to 1 to 2 tablets daily.To prevent vitamin C deficiency when this is not possible through diet, adults receive 50 to 200 mg of ascorbic acid per day, equivalent to 1 tablet every second or third day.The duration of use depends on the course of the disease and the blood values and should be done in consultation with a doctor.

Composition

Each film-coated tablet contains 500 mg ascorbic acid as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, talc, crospovidone, titanium dioxide, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O and vegetable stearic acid.

Contraindications

Vitamin C 500 film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to ascorbic acid or any of the other ingredients, if you have kidney stones made from calcium oxalate or if you have certain iron storage diseases such as thalassemia, hemochromatosis and sideroblastic anemia.If you have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, a predisposition to kidney stone formation or dialysis, the medicine should only be taken after consulting a doctor.Children and adolescents under the age of 18 should generally not use the medicine.

Side effects

Storage
