Information about Otriven 0.1% nasal drops
Otriven 0.1% nasal drops are a solution that contains the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride. This product is available without a prescription and is used to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa in various forms of colds, including allergic rhinitis and paroxysmal runny nose.It also facilitates the drainage of secretions in cases of inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and catarrh of the tubal middle ear in connection with a runny nose. The nasal drops are suitable for adults and school children aged 12 and over.
Quick help for a stuffy nose
A runny nose can be accompanied by a runny or stuffy nose as well as sneezing fits and can often lead to accompanying symptoms such as headaches and fatigue.Otriven nasal drops help to reduce the swelling of the mucous membrane of the nose, facilitate the drainage of secretions and allow you to breathe freely again. This will help you quickly feel better if you have an acute cold.
Provides long-lasting and quick relief
The active ingredient xylometazoline has vasoconstricting properties that cause the nasal mucosa to swell and facilitate the drainage of secretions from the paranasal sinuses. The nasal drops can be used for colds or allergic rhinitis as well as for paroxysmal runny nose. They can also be used for catarrh of the tubal middle ear in conjunction with a cold.
Your advantages
Otriven nasal drops provide quick relief from nasal congestion. The dosing pipette enables precise dosing.Breathing becomes easier and the effect lasts for several hours.
Application of Otriven nasal drops
Before use you should blow your nose thoroughly.Adults and children 12 years and older can apply 2-4 drops in each nostril up to three times daily.Keep your head leaned back and breathe in.Turn your head left and right so that the solution can spread well. The last application of the day should ideally be before going to bed.
Instructions for use
Do not use Otriven for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.Reapplication should only be carried out after a break of several days.Consult a doctor if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, suffer from chronic rhinitis or high blood pressure. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should speak to a doctor before use.The long-term use of medications that decongest the mucous membranes can lead to chronic swelling and loss of the nasal mucosa. The product contains preservatives and can be used for 4 weeks after opening.
Areas of application
Otriven 0.1% nasal drops are used for colds, runny nose, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis and tubal catarrh in connection with a cold. They help to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa and facilitate the drainage of secretions, so that you can breathe more freely through your nose again. The drops are suitable for adults and school children.
Mode of action
The active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride in Otriven nasal drops contracts the dilated veins of the mucous membrane of the nose and eyeballs. This reduces the excessive blood flow, the mucous membrane swells and you can breathe more freely again. In addition, eye irritation is reduced.
