Otriven 0.1% nasal drops are suitable for adults and school children.They help to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa in the event of a runny nose, episodic runny nose and allergic rhinitis.They also facilitate the drainage of secretions in cases of inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and catarrh of the tubal middle ear in conjunction with a runny nose.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

The active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride in Otriven 0.1% nose drops has vasoconstricting properties.It contracts the dilated veins in the mucous membrane of the nose and eyeballs, thereby reducing excessive blood flow.This causes the mucous membrane to swell and patients can breathe more freely through their nose again.In addition, eye irritation is reduced.

1 ml of Otriven 0.1% nasal drops contains 1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.The excipients included are purified water, sodium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium edetate-2-water and benzalkonium chloride.

Contraindications

Otriven 0.1% nasal drops should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to one of the ingredients, in children under 6 years of age or if you have dry nasal mucosa with crust formation.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, if you have cardiovascular diseases or metabolic diseases, you should consult a doctor before use.

Dosage

Intake

Pregnancy
