Application

To start using the thermometer, press the on/off button.A long beep confirms switching on, followed by a display test.If the ambient temperature is below 32 °C, an "L" and a flashing "°C" will appear on the display, indicating that the device is ready for measurement.

Every time the thermometer is switched on, it automatically carries out a function test.In the event of a malfunction, "ERR" appears on the display and the device should no longer be used.

Choose your preferred measurement method.During the measurement, the current temperature is displayed and the "°C" symbol flashes.A beep indicates the end of the measurement.By briefly pressing the on/off button you can switch the thermometer off directly.It also switches off automatically after about 10 minutes.

To view the last reading, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds when turning on.The measured value is then displayed together with an “M”.

Measurement methods

Under the arm (axillary): Normal body temperature is between 34.7 and 37.3 °C for adults and between 35.2 and 37.8 °C for children.Wipe the armpit dry, place the thermometer as far up the armpit as possible and clamp it in place.Wait at least 5 minutes regardless of the beep.

In the oral cavity (oral): Normal body temperature is between 35.5 and 37.7 °C in adults and between 36.0 and 38.2 °C in children.Avoid eating or drinking anything hot or cold 10 minutes before the measurement.Place the thermometer in one of the tongue pockets and keep your mouth closed.Breathe calmly through your nose.The minimum measurement time is 10 seconds.

In the anus (rectal): The normal body temperature is between 36.6 and 38.0 °C in adults and between 37.0 and 38.4 °C in children.For children under 3 years old, a different measuring method or a thermometer with a flexible measuring tip is recommended.Grease the measuring tip and carefully insert it 2-3 cm into the rectum.The minimum measurement time is 10 seconds.

Cleaning and disinfection

To disinfect, use an isopropyl alcohol swab (70%) or a cotton cloth moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol to wipe off any coarse dirt from the measuring probe.Then immerse the measuring probe in 70% isopropyl alcohol for at least 5 minutes and allow the disinfectant to dry for 1 minute before next use.Avoid dipping or wiping the display.
