The mamivac® freezer bags offer a hygienic solution for freezing breast milk.They enable space-saving storage of milk in the freezer for up to 6 months.The integrated closure ensures that the bag is closed securely, and the practical folding base allows it to be stored safely.The bags are made of polyethylene, which makes them odorless, tear-resistant, durable and food-safe.They also have a scale and can be labeled.One packaging unit contains 20 pieces.

To ensure the best quality of breast milk, the following shelf life recommendations should be followed:

Breast milk can be stored as follows:

A maximum of 48 hours in the refrigerator at +4 °C, a maximum of 2 weeks in the star freezer at -18 °C, a maximum of 3 months in the three-star freezer at a constant -20 °C and a maximum of 6 months in the freezer at a constant -20 °C.Pour the milk into the bag and note the fill date and time to ensure the milk is used in the order in which it was expressed.

There are several methods for thawing breast milk:

It can be thawed in the refrigerator at +4 °C within about 24 hours, left at room temperature (put it back in the refrigerator immediately after thawing) or the freezer bag can be held under warm running water or placed in a water bath at a maximum of 37 °C.These deadlines apply to hygienic pumping, whereby hands should be washed before pumping and clean equipment and suction sets or storage containers should be used.To treat the milk as gently as possible, we recommend defrosting it at room temperature.Please do not defrost in the microwave or in hot water.Once thawed, breast milk can be chilled in the refrigerator for 24 hours, but should not be frozen again.Breast milk does not necessarily have to be fed at 37 °C, room temperature is sufficient.
