Mykoderm healing ointment is a medicine that is used for yeast infections of the skin.These infections can manifest themselves particularly in the folds of the body, such as the groin, and can manifest as diaper rash in infants.The affected areas of skin are often red and itchy.

Mode of action

The healing ointment contains two active ingredients: nystatin and zinc oxide.Nystatin works against yeast fungi by damaging the fungi's cell membrane.This inhibits or kills the growth of the fungi.Zinc oxide, on the other hand, has a disinfectant and antiseptic effect, promotes wound healing and binds moisture to the skin, which prevents further softening of the skin.

1 Gram of Mykoderm healing ointment contains 100,000 international units of nystatin and 100 milligrams of zinc oxide.The ointment also contains polyethylene and thick paraffin as additional ingredients.

Contraindications

Mykoderm healing ointment should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage

The ointment should be applied to the affected skin areas 2-3 times a day.For infants, it is recommended to use the ointment 4 times a day, each time before changing.The duration of use should be at least one week and can be extended up to 4 weeks or longer if necessary.It is important to use the ointment for a sufficient period of time to ensure successful treatment.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.After opening the tube, keep the medicine for a maximum of 6 months and store it at room temperature.Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and tube.
