Area of application

Mykoderm healing ointment is used for yeast infections of the skin.These can manifest themselves, for example, in the folds of the body, such as the groin region, as diaper rash.The ointment is suitable for the treatment of fungal yeast infections (Candida), which manifest themselves as red, itchy skin.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients of Mykoderm healing ointment are nystatin and zinc oxide.One gram of the ointment contains 100,000 international units of nystatin and 100 milligrams of zinc oxide.The ointment also contains polyethylene and thick paraffin as other ingredients.

Mode of action

Nystatin damages the cell membrane of fungi, thereby inhibiting or killing their growth.Zinc oxide has a disinfectant and antiseptic effect, promotes wound healing and binds moisture to the skin, which reduces the penetration of pathogens.The natural skin flora is not attacked by the active ingredients.

Dosage and application

Mykoderm healing ointment should be applied to the affected skin areas 2-3 times a day.For infants, the ointment is used up to 4 times a day, each time before changing.The duration of application is usually 2-4 weeks, but can be longer if necessary.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

Mykoderm healing ointment should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.According to current knowledge, the ointment can be used safely during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
