What is Mykoderm healing ointment and what is it used for?
Mykoderm healing ointment is a medicine used to treat yeast infections of the skin.These infections can manifest themselves particularly in the folds of the body, such as the groin region, and can occur, for example, as diaper rash in infants.The ointment has a targeted effect against yeast-specific fungal diseases and helps to relieve the symptoms and fight the infection.
How is Mykoderm healing ointment used?
Mykoderm healing ointment should always be used according to the instructions in the package leaflet.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the ointment is used as follows: Apply the ointment to the affected skin areas 2-3 times a day, morning, afternoon and evening.For infants, the ointment can be used up to 4 times a day, each time before changing.The ointment is applied directly to the skin and should be used for a minimum of 1 week, an average of 2-4 weeks, or longer if necessary.It is important to continue treatment for a sufficient period of time to ensure successful healing.
How should Mykoderm healing ointment be stored?
Mykoderm healing ointment should be kept out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the carton and tube.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.After opening the tube, the ointment will last for another 6 months.
What Mykoderm healing ointment contains
The active ingredients of Mykoderm healing ointment are nystatin and zinc oxide.1 gram of ointment contains 100,000 international units of nystatin and 100 milligrams of zinc oxide.The other ingredients are polyethylene and thick paraffin (5:95).
Mode of action
Nystatin damages the outer shell of fungi, inhibiting their growth and reproduction or directly killing them.Zinc oxide acts on the skin against pathogens and inflammation, promotes wound healing and binds moisture, which is particularly beneficial for weeping, damp skin areas in the body folds.
Contraindications
Mykoderm healing ointment should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.The product is not suitable for use in premature babies or underweight children.In addition, the product should not be used before using a condom.
Dosage
Mykoderm healing ointment can be applied to the affected skin areas two to three times a day.For infants, it can also be used up to four times a day.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and/or the course of the disease and is usually 2-4 weeks.
Notes
Do not use the product together with other creams or powders.If the effect is too low, consult your doctor.No prescription is required for this product.
