Instructions for use of the Mepilex foam dressing

Mepilex is a soft polyurethane foam dressing that is used to treat superficial, slightly to moderately exuding wounds.The bandage is equipped with Safetac technology, which makes changing and removing the bandage less painful for patients.Mepilex is easy to remove and reposition, leaves no residue in the wound and is extremely soft and adaptable.The good cushioning effect protects against further lesions.

Areas of application

Mepilex is suitable for lightly to moderately exuding wounds and can be tailored to different parts of the body.The bandage is particularly suitable for parts of the body that are difficult to bandage.Mepilex is used for the treatment of chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, pressure sores and burns.The bandage allows for painless dressing changes and prevents maceration.

Application

The wound should be cleaned before applying the bandage.Mepilex should cover the dry skin surrounding the wound by at least 1-2 cm for smaller sizes and 3-5 cm for larger sizes.Tubifast can be used for fixation.The bandage can be cut to size.
