Laxofalk is a laxative used for chronic constipation in adults.Laxofalk treatment supports your efforts to combat constipation by changing your dietary habits and lifestyle.For example, make sure your diet is high in fiber and drink plenty of fluids.Sport and exercise also promote digestion.

The active ingredient of Laxofalk is Macrogol 4000, also known as polyethylene glycol 4000. Each 10.167 g sachet contains 10.0 g of Macrogol 4000. The other ingredients are saccharin sodium, orange-grapefruit flavor, which contains sorbitol and sulfur dioxide, as well as various flavors and excipients.

Contraindications

Laxofalk must not be taken in the case of severe intestinal inflammation such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease, in the case of severe pathological enlargement of the colon, in the event of a perforation of the stomach or intestines, in the case of narrowing of the intestine or suspected intestinal obstruction, in the case of abdominal pain of unknown cause and in the case of allergies to macrogol or one of the other ingredients.

Dosage

The recommended dose is 1 sachet 1 to 2 times daily.Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water (approx. 125 ml) and drink the liquid as soon as possible.When taking other medicines, it is recommended to take them at least 2 hours apart.Laxofalk should not be taken for longer than 4 weeks unless directed by your doctor.If there is still no improvement after taking it for two weeks, you should consult your doctor.

Patient information

If you are prone to water and mineral imbalances, you should only use Laxofalk on express medical advice and with increased caution.If you experience diarrhea, your doctor should check your water and mineral balance.Hypersensitivity reactions have been reported very rarely.Since Laxofalk does not contain any significant amounts of sugar or polyol, you can also take it if you have diabetes or are on a galactose-free diet.

Pregnancy

Studies on animals showed no evidence of harmful effects on the unborn child.Macrogol 4000 is only absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract in negligible amounts.Laxofalk can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding as Macrogol 4000 only passes into breast milk in negligible amounts.
